Because apparently the El Camino is really really dead.

They could have at least made it a step side.

I appreciate that they want to use Z/28 parts though.
The real question is: gear selector on the steering column, old skool style?

Better than this Cheyenne, IMO.
It's good to see GM is at least still interested in a performance truck, even if this is just a SEMA concept.

Fun fact: The second generation (2007-2013) Silverado was known as the Chevrolet Cheyenne in Mexico.
Bonus : Miata in the reflection. :D

Sport truck from GM? Let it come in the form of the 2015 Colorado. Slightly better in the size and weight department.
3.6TT engine producing the same 420hp as the CTS
2 lower than standard
alloy rims
street tires – even a high performance all season like the Conti DWS, or Bridge Potenza, or Micheline P/S
slotted rotors with ceramics
‘sport’ grille/front fascia and power dome/ aggressive hood
more sport style bucket seats (lumbar and bolster ass-grabbingness)
hell even paddle shifters would be something for a sport-street truck
good sounding exhaust with a true twin tip (side exit ahead of rear tires on either side?!)
The give the Canyon a unique package, a return of the ZR2 package to cover the offroad side of things.

Great. Take weight off the drive wheels... And make the pickup bed useless by using carbon fiber. I wish they would have borrowed even more from the Z28. You know, like the 7.0 liter...

Personally (so this doesnt mean much lol), if I were buying a performance-sport/street truck I'd want it to be rwd. Keeps weight down a little too.

After seeing nothing but crew-cabs, finally saw my first regular cab today on the local lot. It was a fleet vehicle/work truck though.... White, long bed, black plastic grill.
This concept looks great.
